The scarf is knit on size 10 needles with a fine, 100% soft wool fingering yarn.
This incredible yarn gradually changes from rose to pink to orange to yellow.
Mango Fizz was the closest I could get to describing the almost irridescent
quality of the yarn when knit up in this open stitch. The scarf measures 43 inches by 7 inches
after blocking. The clasp you see in the photos is a simple crocheted ring with
curliques attached. This adds to the fun and fizzy quality of the scarf.
The pattern includes crochet instructions for the clasp, but if you do not
crochet (or will not crochet) you can purchase a pre-made clasp for a small
additional fee.
When my daughter saw me working on this scarf, she said -- Of course,
you will give me that for my birthday! -- So what could I say? It is hers.
This scarf would look great worn during the upcoming Spring Holidays. An
experienced knitter could certainly finish it by then. It would be a nice holiday
gift for a knitting friend, too.
