Drying Your Hand Knit Garment -
Using Your Patience for a Great Result
Lay the garment on a clean, dry towel and dry flat, pushing the garment into
shape.
Be sure that the towel and garment are placed out of direct sunlight and away
from heat sources.
When the top of the garment feels almost dry, turn it over to allow the other
side to dry.
It's usually a good idea to steam block the dried garment by arranging it to the
size wanted, holding a steam iron 1" over the knitting, and patting the garment into shape.
Do not steam block synthetics. Remember, they melt!
Fold the garment and place in a drawer or on a shelf. Never hang a knit on a
hanger or it will stretch.
Put a little lavender in the drawer. It makes the knitted garment smell good and
it discourages moths.
Enjoy wearing your garment or putting it on your baby!
